Collectable - Investing in Sports Collectibles for Diversification?

You know those pesky Facebook ads that pop up ...like, constantly?

Well, every once in a while something catches my eye, and yesterday I saw an ad for "Collectable", which bills itself as - "The #1 Fractional Investing Platform for Sports".

Considering that for many years during the '90s to '00s I co-owned a collectibles store, and being the inquisitive person I am, I decided to check them out to see if I would be interested in adding yet one more investing app to the ever-growing collection on my smart phone.

Doing some cursory checking, I found out that Collectable is registered with the SEC, and reviewed by a FINRA registered broker-dealer which definitely lends some level of credibility to the platform. In addition, all of the assets on the platform are safely secured, maintained and insured.

Currently Collectable is offering "free shares" for opening an account, and seeing as my research indicates that they are legit, I did open an account for myself.

For my bonus I received a free share of LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony 2004-2005 Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman collectible valued at $10 (pic below).

Let me reiterate to avoid any misunderstanding ...I did not receive the item itself, I received an investment 'share' in the item that hopefully will be sold for a profit from which I will receive a portion of the proceeds.

Perhaps it's my previous experience with buying, selling and trading collectibles, comics and sports memorabilia but the idea of participating in the transactional sale of high-end collectibles definitely appeals to me.

If you are interested in checking out Collectable yourself you can do that here -
